2021 Risers

Episode one:

A quick list of some guys that I am interested in for the 2021 season, these can change due to many factors along the way, so keep that in mind. My picks are based off of 0.5 PPR scoring systems. I will try to keep it short and sweet!

David Montgomery RB: The twitter community has a deep love/hate relationship with Monty, I have always been on the “love” side of things. Montgomery finished as RB4 on the year, yes you heard me, RUNNING BACK 4th OVERALL! After a slow first half to the season, he tore up the NFL after his week 11 BYE, averaging around 23 points a game. In those last 6 games he had 6 Rushing TDs and 1 Rec TD and was beating out his weekly projections every week.

Barring QB controversy in CHI town, I think Montgomery could be a steal in upcoming drafts, his ADP is always outside the top 10 running backs and if you are a WR early strategy kind of person, Monty could be a great RB add.

Antonio Gibson RB: There are some Gibson truthers out there, for good reason.  Gibson really started hitting his stride after week 7, only to hit a road block in the form of an injury in week 13, which ultimately ended his fantasy season (except week 16). Whenever they handed the ball to him over 12 times a game he blew out his projections for the week.

I assume that they are going to use him as a bell cow back in 2021 and average over 12 attempts a game, if history proves to be correct, I think there are big things coming for this young man.

Justin Jefferson WR: JJ is my guy; I drafted him early and often in 2020 and got a lot of flak for it, well who is laughing now?!? As I blow my own horn over here, I can’t help but be excited for 2021 for this young man. Finishing 6th overall on the WR list as a rookie, he showed explosion and unbelievable hands.

His ADP is going to shoot up, he is well worth it and I suggest having him on your early round radar, he could finish inside the top 5 next year. We will have to see where his ADP is closer to “main” draft season, but I will hope he falls to the end of round two/ early round 3 area (just a guess).

Chase Cl…no I just can’t do it. Sorry Pittsburgh fans, attitude is actually a factor for me.

Cole Beasley WR: I know he is not a household name, people might look at this sideways. But with the emergence of Josh Allen, Beasley is a relevant later round WR. Finishing as WR 26 on the year, he is a great Flex play. Draftable probably way later than his 2020 performance, for all my RB heavy GMs out there, why not pick him up? I don’t think he gets enough respect, A: for his football skills and B: for that flow he has rocking… you should draft him just for that hair.

Robert Tonyan TE: This one stings a bit, I was not a believer. Going off of the history with Aaron Rodgers and his tight ends, how could I? I mean, who was this guy??? Honestly, I thought Jace Sternberger was going to be the TE1 on the Packers this year; well I was as shocked as everyone else. The reason he emerged in my opinion, was that Rodgers hand was forced; Brian Gutekunst (Packers GM) made zero attempts to help adding weapons to the offense at the draft or free agency. Rodgers had to make do with what he had outside Adams and he excelled, Tonyan finishing TE3 on the year is definitely someone you should have your eyes on drafting next year.
